I Got Two !!!!!

 

Remember my last post
where I was adoring and longing for Emily's Swan Light ?

Well ..... Mr E has come up trumps and I am so delighted with my perfect gift !!!!!

Two vintage china swans - just right for popping in a tealight or two - I LOVE THEM SO MUCH !!!!!

Mr E spotted them in a charity shop
and one evening we stopped off when the shop was closed
and he showed me them - ( cue whoops of desire and the obligatory clapping of hands from me )

He asked me if I liked them - I think the answer was, hmmmmm, YES !!!!!

The shop was closed - so we simply had to return home

The both of us being so busy, and not passing by the shop during opening times
the swans just sat in the window and
I hoped that they would stay there until I could pass by and get them

Then ..... the other evening
moving slowly in traffic
I passed by the shop and as I glanced into the window
there was a gap - a swan tealight sized gap - THEY WERE GONE !!!!!

I was gutted - but weirdly was happy that someone had seen them and given them a new home
YEP - I honestly feel like this about vintage things

So - back home - and greeted by the face I love ( gosh that was proper slushy )
and after my usual verbal chatter of the day
Mr E went to get me a gift

YAY, WHOOP, CLAP HANDS
I love gifts !!!!!

He presented me with some sketch books - LUSH !!!!!
I can never get enough sketch and notebooks in my life

BUT

Mr Bubs had mentioned he had obtained some epic finds
but holy chuckle brothers

is THE best find EVER

On viewing it - I nearly spat out my green tea (addicted to the stuff - and feel fab on it)
and I daren't tell you what Mr Bubs bought it for
HE IS SO CLEVER

He will be at my door tomorrow
with this - 3 suitcases and much more loveliness
so I think tomorrow I will be pinging out of bed

Loved and Lost

 
I utterly fell in love with this bag that was in auction on ebay
but alas
I did not win it

I wanted it so bad that I have saved a photo as a fond memory

Potty or what !!!!! ha ha

Actually - It reminds me of a fabby idea Mr Bubs had
of keeping a scrapbook/wall of my favourite unique finds
that I have kept so safe and warm in my shop
and then - when sold - set them free

A loved and lost wall in my shop - yep that is a defo for 2011
(and as Mr Bubs suggested - maybe as polaroids)

My renovations are coming on so very well
and this afternoon I moved a telephone table into my lounge
that Mr Bubs bought me a while ago

Cushions that I have loved for way too long
I have decided to move out of my chilling space
and with one vintage key cushion setting my mind into an ecclectic spiral
I really do feel that I am nearing the middle of the next chapter in my 'book'

I spotted on ebay

I have a new exciting venture

Charity Shops
my huge passion
and part of my weekly routine

With the UK weather being so up and down
and today so YUK !!!!
rain rain rain
I find that my charity shops
fill a little hollow in my heart
when the car boot sales are called off

Couple this with my natural transition
into selling things for people
- word of mouth is a joyous thing -
and you have a very happy excited lady on your hands

 

On one of the streets I visit
with a plenty of charity shops adorning it's pavements
I entered my favourite
and WOW
they had had a revamp
and now it looks like a charity boutique
a little like Mary Portas had been to visit

I have really enjoyed following Mary Portas' programmes
in which
Mary takes on charity shop brands in order to transform them into must-stop-shops on the high street

It seems that her drive to achieve this goal is working
and boy oh boy
when the staging is right
all these second hand lovelies look oh so much more precious

and guess what ????

so excited !!!!!

 

I am going to donate some of my time
and work in one

I CANNOT WAIT !!!!!

It simply kind of happened today
and after a casual chat with one of the ladies
I found myself saying ' yeh I can help out '

Super eeeeek
I think the dream of vintage and retail is finding me
and am I now living the dream
