Friends with Benefits

..... nooooo not those kind of benefits ha ha

Running a vintage business means that my lifelong chums pop by from time to time
and spot little treasures that they fancy
and ..... being lifelong chums of course
I always remember and make sure that they are surprisedto find them in their possession soon after
and the smile on their faces is all worth it

This LUSH tin is on the way to my mate Lee ..... lucky boy ;)

New Homes for Little Treasures - Giveaway Update

 

I gave away this musical bird cage some while ago on my blog

As you know - I find it hard to let go of all my finds
but in no time at all
if I kept everything I aquire there would be no room for me in my home

It seriously makes up for it though
to get a message/photos from a recipient telling of the object's new found lease of life

Today I got this message from the lovely lady that won the bird cage
- oooooh it has made my morning

Hello Dommie...
I won this in your give-away a long time ago...
just thought you might like to know that I used it as a centerpiece
for my grand-daughter's 10th birthday
and it has since been used (with new flowers, or butterflies, or doves and ribbons, etc.)
as a center piece for mother's day teas, baby showers, engagement parties
and it is now retired and living on a friend's screened porch
and has a glass candle holder to light the evening hours, the music box still works!
I wish I had photos to show all the transformations it has gone through....

A New Nest

 

 
There once was a pair of vintage scales
That lived in a little shop in Wales .....

 

and now ..... they have a new home !!!!!

eeeeek - the lovely lady that bought these scales
and visited on a lovely sunny day to pick them up
and with smiles and giggles she whisked them away to her home

I get rather sad (honestly I do) when some of my very favourite pieces are sold
yet
I know that I cannot keep them all
and
it gives me so very much joy to get pictures like these from happy peeps

New Homes for Little Treasures

I am so so excited to be starting this section of my bloggity blog.

Things have been so
BONKERS
a la
Dizzee Rascal
that I simply have not had time to begin.

So now ..... I sit here after being out thrifting for four hours !!!!!
BLISS
my arms feeling like they are twice as long as they were first thing this morning
and can just about lift my trusty coffee by my side
Oh ..... and type of course.

So
to debut a lovely lady on my new wee
New Homes for Little Treasures ..... section of my blog.

Some time ago a popped a little necklace into my Etsy store.

Not too long after
it was purchased and winged it's way to Kansas in the USA.

It is strange as when I place something unique into my stores
I am quite attached to them as I tend to love everything I sell
and when these little treasures fly the nest I wonder .....
what are they doing now
what do they look like now
who owns them now.

Well ..... the pretty lady's Mum sent me an e-mail
with pictures attached.

 

Woohooo how fab and it looked like this adorable couple
were heading to THE best prom
to have THE best night.

I will leave you with the kind words I received from her Mum .....

Prom was last Saturday, and everything worked out fine,
although their "vintage" purple limo did break down and leave them stranded!
Your necklace was absolutely perfect and she loves it.
I think she looked like a Spring Princess.
It'll be so cool to see a Kansas girl on a blog from South Wales!
