To Inspire You - The Work of Joseph Cornell

By collecting and carefully juxtaposing found objects in small, glass-front boxes,
Cornell created visual poems in which surface, form, texture, and light play together

Using things we can see,
Cornell made boxes about things we cannot see: ideas, memories, fantasies, and dreams

I have gotten SO much done in a focused and calm way today

Heating on full blast, fairy lights on - copious amounts of caffeine - zing zing
and a methodical day of uploading products whilst watching daytime TV
out to post off orders and back now for a chilled evening of sketching, making and a film I think
after a warm bubble bath

WELL DONE ME ;)

FREE from Me ... to You !!! . My suprise vintage find

 
 My vintage delivery day is getting BETTER and BETTER as the weeks go on

The guys know what is perfect for my shop
and they do seem to bring me MANY suprises too that always turn out to be oh so wonderful

 

and then
there always the super suprises ..... like this suitcase
that I thought was empty -
even my vintage rummagers who get first pick of everything
( yep mum and sis get preferentail treatment of course)
did not spot what was inside

So - tah dah
on opening up this suitcase
I found that it was full of vintage handkerchiefs
table cloths - mats - gloves
and a photo of a lady that I have given to my friend Lee

He collects vintage photos and I feel better giving them to him
as it just feels awful to throw them away

So - today I am happy to be giving away these gloves, crocheted mat
and embroidered handkerchief from the suitcase of suprises
