More Blooms for your Buck

 

You know when you pass through a supermarket, and there are the flowers that have a reduced label on

Some, I agree, can look a tired bunch, and definitely would not be something you would give to someone as a gift

Yet, stop, and think ... This is always THE perfect and economical opportunity for you to get more blooms for your buck

Yesterday I bought cream roses, that we're turning slightly brown on the edges

These are my favourite time for roses - strangely I feel they look prettier and more divalike this way

I kept it simple last night, after a busy day

A spare pot, a few snips and I have these pretties mow in my bedroom

All for just £1.30

Step Ladder Chic

Step ladders for storage and display - who would have thought it hey - but how divine

On trend, and yet, quirky and practical and makes sense to your budget if you have a redundant one lying around

My folks were hoping to chuck out their ladder, which was May great grandmother's, making it heck old !!!

So - on saying they were going to chuck it - my reply ? ..... Nooooo !!!

You can now find the ladder for sale in my shop - it is wonderfully aged by time and paint

Bits and Bobs Pots DIY

 

I am quietly obsessed with recycling and do have a habit of hoarding cleaned household items that will be used one day for a project - always for a project hey

I did once get fanatical about saving wine bottles and any that I saw, but I did not have a project for them in my sights

Epic fail - I had to let go of them one day to the recycling - and there were MANY !!!

I guess I would say, don't be too ambitious, and I say it to myself and that any recycling or upcycling is good

I made these pots in no time at all using paper that I love and my good old double sided

I hope that you enjoy your recycling projects this month

It'll be All White

A little while ago I sold this basket to a lovely smiley lady who has the shabby chic bug

 

It is always nice to see regular faces who buy from me, and over time (as nosey as I am) I love to, at least, hear of people's interior design projects and generally how they are getting on in their worlds

It was such a sweet surprise to get a little pic of this laundry basket - now painted white and looking super fresh

Strange hey how a colour change can make something look so different

Be Gentle

Top Tip from me ... be gentle on yourself in the morning

 

Give yourself just five minutes extra to make a coffee, pop on the radio and do something for you to ease you into the day

Also create an atmosphere that is comfy to wake up in

 

Lighting is my new thing at the moment - cosy vintage shades feel quite snugly

My house is now full too of pink roses and a tonne of other flowers that I purchased the other day

 

Plants and flowers are going to be my new thing for 2014 - clusters of pots and Upcycled tins ... I will keep you updated
