It was all fun fun fun though and with Dad returning for his suprise joint party Mum, Lolly Bebs and I got busy before our family and friends arrived
With my little/big helper in Mum's kitchen we got to making some world destination cupcakes that map out an exciting adventure and also - jointly apt as one place my folkies will be visiting too to hook up with the kiddos
All you need are some cupcakes Rainbow drops - green - so munch the rest as you make cakes - super good some blue food colouring and some icing sugar
The only thing that did take some time was that I cut out in heart shapes part of the map of each destination and attached neatly to a cocktail stick
You just have to ice the cakes and push in the green rainbow drops making your cute cupcakes look like little worlds
To finish off - pop in your hearts and !!!!! ta dah !!!!! the most exciting little yummy treats
Lolly Bebs ..... I got some of your fave people to wish you fab travels with their obligatory moustaches of course and their chosen words beginning with the letter M that remind them of you
To my most amazing sister I could EVER have imagined
Here it is - your super HUGE adventure !!!!! I cannot tell you how excited I am for you - there is a WHOLE HUGE WORLD out there !!!!! ..... you are going to meet even more of it ..... and it will be lucky to meet you too !!!!!
With Dan - your SUPER TOP fella - by your side to experience so many wonderful things with, I could not think of a better person for you to travel and be with
I will miss you yes - you know how much - BUT ..... I want you to jump on that plane with so much to look forward to and know that we are all by your side every day sending you love and smiles and looking forward to hearing of your exciting news
You are the most precious little sister and person who I love millions
To my Lolly Bebs - I love you !!!!!
The Oxford English Dictionary defines a mate as 'a friend or companion'. An alternative definition is 'the sexual partner of an animal'. If Thailand is anything to go by then you will pick up a lot of "mates" on your travels.
I hope you both have an amazing time!
Firstly, I think you both are monkeys and secondly I can say it in my 'farmer' accent for you! Really going to miss you Laura so much, this is an opportunity of a life time and it is amazing!! Please don't get mixed up with the orangutans and start living with them going to miss our daily whatsapp sessions and your very good love advice. Have no fear I will still be a spinster once you're home (unless u pack a nice man up in your suitcase for me). Thank you for everything you have done for me!!! You are the kindest, sweetest person ever and I really mean that!
Have a 'lush' time!!
Be back now.
Love you xxxxxxxxxxx
Evans! I'm not going to write about how much I'll miss you because you already know that and I don't want this to make you sad - you should be excited about the amazing adventure you're headed for! So I'll keep this short and sweet.
I absolutely cannot wait to hear all the stories about your travels, keep us updated and keep in touch on skype - the kids are so excited about getting to see you again (me too!).
Be good, take care and most importantly have fun!
Huge big hugs and lots and lots of love,
You're finally off on your big adventure then! Laura, we've been spoilt having you around this past summer and we're going to miss you LOADS. We hope you and Dan have an amazing time, stay safe
One day - I had crazy itchy fingers and had the urge to make something new - in an upcylce kind of way I am MAD for this at the moment as you will see with my future projects
Perhaps it is because we are all hitting tough times financially and with winter around the corner - at times things can feel cosy - yet sadly for some this can be rather glooming
I am going to be posting projetcs that you can make and create on a budget with alot of the things that you can find around your home for some Christmas gift ideas - that are far more special and do not cost a thing
So - onto my Roses Brooch Project ..... Super Quick and Super Simple
All you need is
An old tie Needle Thread Safety Pin
and optional - felt and a button
Get your tie - cut in half
Take the thinner end and start to wind it round itself - not too tight - and as you go sew the back securely
As you keep going to will see the rose shape naturally develop
Stop when you feel that you have the size of brooch that you would like
Fix a safety pin to the back and as an option you can finish off with some felt and a button to make the back look tidy and pretty
Once you have done one - you can make lots more for your friends
Plus - the ties I found cost nothing or 20p - 50p in charity shops and out of one ties you can get at least two brooches
