Yesterday evening
I popped out for an impromptu girly catch up with my bezzy chum Lou.
As I have said before
I do not like to label friends as 'best' etc
but Lou is that mate
that I do not have to see for ages
but when we get together it is as if we saw each other yesterday
as if we are still 11 (when we first met).
Age 11 ..... I was the new girl at the school
petrified
did not know anyone as we had moved just before so I could go to a good school
and Lou made friends with me at the bus stop.
I remember it vividly
and warmly
her with her glasses, long long hair and a friendly smile.
Years and years have passed
and although Lou now lives four hours up North
she is the friend that knows me inside and out
understands me
and I love her dearly !!!!!
The night was a hoot !!!!!
We just popped into a bar
chatted endlessly,
me driving and not drinking (ish)
and Lou
drinking lots !!!!!
of red wine.
She was hilarious
rather tipsy
(very tipsy)
and had the neeeeeeeeed for chips at the end of the night.
I had to insist to the guys behind the counter that I was not drunk
as Lou's nonsense speak and giggling fits were rather rubbing off on me.
Lou was safely
but in a rather dishevelled state
returned home
and I drove on to my house
with the brain wave to pop into Asda at 11.30 am to pick up some bits whilst it was empty.
I am not sure how it happened
but although not have touched a drop of drink (well ..... half a shandy)
I drove into ..... and over ..... a stationary concrete island
in the middle of a
HUGE
EMPTY
car park
So now .....
to add to my list of stationary LARGE objects that I have driven into
1. a stationary lorry trailer (taking off the side of my car)
2. my stationary garage (with a slight dent)
3. and a stationery concrete island (surprisingly no damage ..... just a slight dent to my driving pride).
